With my last trip to town I said that I was going to fill you in later. Well I finally chose the paint colour for our sons room and picked it up the other day. Sorry there are no before pics, ( it was really bad, lol) Paneling that was a light brown with dark brown wood grain. We also live in a 101 year old home. ( the family farm) Now it is up to us to bring it up to date! lol.
Standing in the door way of his room taking this.
One big wall.
The top of his closet door. I'm not wanting to show the whole door because it such a mess, (when we had to move everything out of his room. lol.) I may get the nerve up to take a pic, to give you a good laugh!
This is from the far side of the room show you the doorway into his room.
This is me standing on the ladder taking the tape off, and as you can see I will also have touch ups to do. (Your probably thinking no wonder your standing across the room pulling the tape off, lol) I thought it was pretty funny, the whole room came off in one piece.
And yes I will be getting a new Light fixture!
I have a big list of projects for Jacks Room. From painting his bed to sewing is bedding and a few other things. So stay tuned!!!
Have a great day, Kendall
I learned how to create the Tye Die Cake, which my kids love it! I have also had people order this as well. Its so fun. I'm also a BIG fan! You will understand when you eat a piece! (But it does take a little bit more time then usual.)
1. You start of with a Vanilla cake batter already prepared. I use homemade batter but you can use a boxed mix as well.
2. Divide the batter into 4 bowls.
3. Choose 4 different colours of food colouring. Then put a colour each bowl and mix it together.
4. Take a spoon and spoon the batter into your cake pan in alternate colours. Then take a knife and give the batter a few swirls around. It should look something like the top picture.
5. Now it is time for you place it into the oven and then enjoy.
A Paving Machine, LOL! This is the cake that I made yesterday then delivered. The young man who received this big yellow monster is in love with paving. (loves his job) He operates this piece of machinery for the construction company that he works for. And "LOVES" it, so I am told. This was three layers of peanut butter cake with chocolate butter cream between all three layers. YUM!
They were very pleased with this cake! and I was glad for the opportunity to create this! I searched the web for Paving Machine cakes but couldn't find any. LOL. One of a kind in my books!!! Thank you N.M. and Happy 26th Birthday J.S.!!!
Hi to you all!, I have one busy 11 days coming up starting today after my weekly trip to town. (your prob. thinking WEEKLY what the heck,LOL) Yes its true when you don't live in town. My other half (hahaha) has just over an hour drive one way to work. At the end of his day he always gives a call to see if I need for him to pick anything up. Love that!!! It has saved me so much time! Where, that time going to town is NEVER short, I'm looking at about 3 hours or more. I get side tracked easly when it comes to Wal Mart. (the crafting section) What could I make today??? Which really will not be today. lol! Its next on my list. lol!
Well got to get going, I will fill you in later. Bye for now.
This here cake was for a young man turning 9. It was a hit!!! The flavour was Vanilla with Vanilla butter cream. I made the figures out of fondant a few days ahead so they had time to dry.
This here cake was for a little girl turning 5. She's in love with horses!!! It was Vanilla on Vanilla. The brown is chocolate fondant. (yum!)
This mornings Cranberry scones, amazing! Here is the recipe:
2 1/2 cups Flour
2 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1 Tbls White sugar
1 cup Cranberries (i used dried)
1/2 cup Butter
2 Eggs
1/2 cup Buttermilk
I placed everything but the 1 Tbls of white sugar in my Kitchen Aid mixer (much more easier) with the dough hook. I then rolled it into a ball with my hands, then flattened it to about 2" thick and cut it like a pizza. Placed the dough slices onto a baking pan, brushed with milk and sprinkled with white sugar (you can sprinkle as much or as little as you would like) Then baked @ 375 for 15 min. Remember that every ones oven cooks at different temperatures, so watch for them to turn golden. (You could even drizzle them with lemon glaze for a dessert!)
I found this recipe over at Mennonite girls can Cook Blog. They have soooo many awsome recipes!!!!
